About Me
I'm a Data Analyst at John Deere Credit,
in Johnston, Iowa. I'm working with a team of analysts, which is a treat compared to the
isolation I felt at previous jobs.
Also, I am a member of TeamSybase, a volunteer support position for Sybase, primarily associated with the Internet Newsgroups.
Before JDC, I was at Tyson Foods, who had purchased IBP, Inc. located in Dakota City, Nebraska. I was with IBP/Tyson September 1996 to January 2003.
Before IBP, I was at Gateway 2000, again as a Database Analyst. My main job there was to create and maintain all logical database designs, including a monster of an order entry database. I was there for 3 years before being offered the position at IBP.
Delving further into history, I was a Programmer/Analyst for Woodmen Accident and Life in Lincoln, Nebraska for 3 years. In that position I was responsible for maintaining the library of all PC-based source code and developing FoxPro databases.
Before Woodmen, I was enlisted in the US Air Force as a Computer Programmer. I have vague memories of Model 204 databases and Assembler program dumps, as well as running network cable through ceiling crawlspaces. <Shudder> but lets not stay there too long.
I have extensive experience with a database design tool called PowerDesigner from Sybase. It isnt the Holy Grail of design tools, but I am comfortable with it and it is very powerful.
